Earth Anchors are spiral or straight-blade ground anchors that screw into soil to capture the cumulative tension from trellis wires at the end post and transfer it into earth resistance. In loamy and clay soils, choose spiral anchors, where rotational penetration works effectively. In sandy soils, choose straight-blade anchors, where the flat bearing surface maximizes ground contact. Anchor type matched to soil condition
Spiral anchors suit loamy and clay soils, where rotational penetration is effective. Straight-blade anchors suit sandy soils, where the flat bearing surface maximizes ground purchase.
Steel rod with helix or blade
Steel rods ½ to 1 inch in diameter, with a 4 to 10 inch helix diameter and 8-gauge-and-up helix thickness; 12 inches and longer; painted, powder-coated, or hot-dip galvanized finish.

Screwed into soil at an angle, anchor converts wire tension to ground resistance
Install the anchor away from the end post at an angle into the soil. Attach a cable or tie-rod from the anchor to the post. As trellis wires load the post horizontally, the anchor's ground penetration and blade geometry convert that horizontal pull into downward soil resistance, pinning your post in place against cumulative row tension.
