Concrete & Construction

Corona supplies the structural components for temporary formwork, fixed-form paving, reinforcement preparation and cast-in foundation work. Stakes and pins retain form edges and set line and level. Tie rods and nuts connect opposing form faces around a pour. Cut rebar and wire prepare reinforcement layouts. Dowel bars transfer loads across concrete joints. Anchor bolts set into foundations and receive base plates and equipment.

Concrete & Construction: assorted steel stakes, pins and threaded rods

What this range covers

Components for the work around a pour.

Temporary form edges

Temporary forms rely on driven stakes to hold line and level before the pour. Round Stakes take beside timber or panel boards. Flat Stakes grip soft ground and board attachments. Rebar Stakes use a familiar driven profile for ground restraint. Square Stakes prevent rotation in soft soil or poor-grip conditions. Formwork Pins retain boards where driven positioning is needed.

Fixed-form paving

Steel road forms hold the line and profile for concrete pavement, kerbs, channels and footpath edges. Each form section sits on grade and is secured by driven pins through a housing pocket. Round Stakes hold temporary edges next to the fixed form.

Reinforcement preparation

Reinforcement layouts use Cut Rebar cut to length and secured at intersections with Wire. Slabs, floors and cages are assembled before the pour. Cut Bars and Dowel Bars span concrete joints to transfer loads as slabs and pavements move.

Foundations and base plates

Cast-in Anchor Bolts project through the foundation and carry the base plate connection through their threaded ends. Plate Washers under the nut distribute load on the bearing face. Threaded Rods provide a threaded interface for rod-and-plate assembly in foundation work.

Round Stakes

Product family

Stakes and pins

Driven stakes and pins hold temporary forms in line before the pour. Each profile—round, flat-sectioned, rebar-style or square—addresses different board types and ground conditions. Formwork Pins provide a holed retention option.

Tie Rods (Double Ended)

Product family

Tie and bearing components

Form-tie assemblies hold opposing faces during a concrete pour. Tie Rods span the faces and take the horizontal load. Tie Rod Nuts engage the thread on each end, and Plate Washers distribute the bearing load on the wood or panel surface.

Cut Rebar

Product family

Bars and rods

Cut Rebar is supplied to length for reinforcement layouts and slabs. Threaded Rods provide a threaded interface for rod-and-plate assemblies, suspensions or adjustable supports. Cut Bars and Dowel Bars transfer loads across concrete joints in pavements and slabs.

Road Forms

Product family

Road forms and pins

Steel Road Forms establish line and profile for concrete pavement edges, kerbs, channels and footpaths. Form sections link together and are held on grade by driven pins through the form housing.

  • Road FormsReusable steel form section for pavement and kerb edges.
  • Road Form PinsDriven pin that secures the form through its pocket.
Anchor Bolts

Product family

Anchoring parts

Cast-in Anchor Bolts project through the foundation and hold the base-plate assembly through their threaded ends. Plate Washers distribute the nut load on the bearing face. Threaded Rods provide a threaded connection option for rod-and-plate assemblies.

  • Anchor BoltsSteel element cast into the foundation with threaded projection.
  • Plate WashersLoad-spreading plate at the base-plate or nut interface.
  • Threaded RodsThreaded rod for rod-and-plate foundation assemblies.
Wire

Product family

Tying wire

Black annealed Wire (16 Ga) secures reinforcement and mesh intersections during reinforcement layout, before the concrete is placed.

  • WireSoft annealed wire for tying reinforcement intersections.

Questions answered

Common questions about concrete components.

Which stake profile suits which ground condition?
Round stakes work with any board type and ground. Flat stakes offer a broad bearing face for soft-ground anchoring. Rebar-profile stakes dig into loose soil with increased friction. Square stakes resist rotation in soft soil. Choose by ground: round for standard, flat for soft ground, rebar for loose/sandy soil, square where anti-rotation matters.
What do tie rods and tie rod nuts do in a formwork assembly?
Tie rods are threaded rods that span the gap between opposing form faces under horizontal concrete pressure. A tie rod nut engages the thread, and a plate washer distributes bearing load on the form face. As the nut tightens, the rod draws the two faces together, creating clamping force. The rod carries the load while the nut and washer hold the forms rigid during the pour.
What's the difference between dowel bars and cut rebar?
Dowel bars are smooth round bars placed across concrete joints to transfer loads as the slab moves. They are smooth (not deformed) so they can shift slightly within the joint. Cut rebar is deformed reinforcing bar for slab reinforcement, laid to strengthen concrete. Dowels transfer loads across joints; rebar strengthens the concrete body.
How are road forms held to grade?
Road forms are steel sections set on the ground along the edge of a concrete pour to establish line and profile. Road form pins are driven through pockets built into the form section and into the ground, securing the form and holding it to line and level through the pour. Each section is positioned and leveled, then pinned to prevent movement when concrete is placed.
When are anchor bolts cast in versus fixed later?
Anchor bolts are cast into the foundation during the concrete pour. The bolt is held in a template and embedded as concrete sets, so the body locks in the foundation while the threaded end projects upward for the base plate, nut and washer. This cast-in method cannot be moved after concrete hardens, unlike post-installed anchors drilled into hardened concrete.
What role do formwork pins play compared to stakes?
Formwork pins are holed pins that lock boards to stakes for position retention. Stakes are driven into the ground to anchor form edges during the pour. Pins provide a positive, locked connection at specific points while stakes deliver ground-holding force through driving.
